Introduction:

Automotive brands have been releasing their new concepts specifically for April 1st, with April Fools ranging from product recalls to new dealership practices. Car Dealer Magazine highlights a few of these amusing concepts.

Isuzu UK announced that a small number of its D-Max pick-ups sold in the past 12 months had been produced with an incorrect badge, reading 'IZUSU' instead of 'ISUZU'. Although the issue does not affect the vehicle's performance, capability, or safety, Isuzu UK's national sales manager, Neil Scott, apologised for any inconvenience caused and assured customers that steps have been taken to prevent future occurrences.

Volkswagen revealed its plan to release a range of nail varnishes matching its paint colours, allowing customers to perfectly match their cars. These nail varnishes use a Fashionable Oil Overhaul Lacquer (F.O.O.L.) formula, which can even be used to temporarily repair scratches and scrapes on car paintwork.

Jeep's April Fools concept is the 'Mud' paint option for the Jeep Compass. Customers can choose from three mud finishes – Clay, Soil, and Silt – developed by soil scientists. The 'mudification' process is applied at the factory, and a 'Mud-On' package can be purchased for those wanting to replicate the effect at home.

Honda launched the Honda Ultra Quiet Sonic Hub (HUSH), a noise-cancelling technology for inside vehicles. HUSH detects unwanted noises, such as children screaming, and cancels them out, providing a quieter driving experience.

Skoda's April Fools offering is the Pumped-Up Pooches concept. Skoda dealerships will have inflatable versions of all 222 dog breeds recognised by the Kennel Club to help customers see how well their dog will fit in the boot of a new Skoda Fabia or Octavia.

The RAC joined in on the fun by launching its own fuel called OrangeJuice, a fuel designed to help motorists squeeze out extra mileage. The RAC claims that real-world tests found drivers managed to squeeze out up to five additional miles a day using OrangeJuice™.

Lastly, Subaru revealed its all-heel drive walking shoes, the Suba-Shoes. The shoes feature an omni-loaded drive cup to help customers power through tough miles and a car rubber outer sole for extra grip on various surfaces.
